So, i got myself a new CD of Rene Barrow. He is a Sabahan singer-songwriter and a recording artist of English and Chinese heritage who has lived in Japan, Sweden, West Africa, the UK and the US. Having returned home to Sabah earlier this year, he recently released his debut album called 'That's Life', a Jazz-Rock fusion album which received rave reviews from Bandwidth magazine, and has been played on national radio stations, SuriaFM and TraxxFM. He performed at the 2010 KK International Jazz Festival as a Jazz Vocalist with the UMS Big Band and is a regular performer on KK's Jazz scene.
I got this CD from his father, Dr. Richard Barrow when i meet him yesterday during the 2 days PEREKA Research & Innovation poster competition at UMS. He become one of judge. Dr. Barrow own the Sabah Clinic located at center of Kota Kinabalu city. He's very proud of his son today. He talked a lot about him. With that lot of coming from him, why not i bought myself a copy. The songs was nice, great for those into jazz-rock fusion music. Frankly to say this is the most expensive CD i ever bought for myself in my entire life. lol..Now, i wouldn't mind lending it to anyone here.
Here's some of shoot taken by me on the CD. I like the CD front cover design. Very meaningful. The way i see it, the plant growing represent us, egg shell, plastic and rubbish represent the environment surrounding us with stress, problems. No matter how's the surrounding we live in, life has to go on. It depend on how we see thing and adapt. We can still manage to survive even from a worse environment. lol..trying to bluff here..
